Kia ora koutou, Kōwhai whānau,
Phew! Our very last K.I.T. notice of 2019. We promise we'll keep it brief, as we know there are sleigh bells to ring, marshmallows to toast, snowmen to build, and all those other exciting pre-Christmas activities to complete! Maybe not - but your kids really need you at this time of year, so instead of reading messages from us, go and build some memories with them. :o) A massive 'thank you' to each of you for your support, encouragement, and help through the year. In particular - to those parents who have volunteered their time to come and help in the classroom, our sincere thanks for making yourselves available. And a huge 'thank you' to the book room fairies who put away box after box after box of reading books without a single complaint (well, not when we could hear, anyway!) We wish you all a fabulous Christmas and New Year break with your friends and families. Travel safely, and we look forward to catching up with you all again in 2019! Kia ora koutou, Kōwhai whānau,
Our thanks to all of you who were able to join us yesterday for our end-of-year Celebration of learning and prize-giving. It was great to see you all, and to share our learning from a very busy year! We are very proud of all our Kōwhai learners, and the progress they have made this year, and hope you are, too! On Thursday morning we spent some time in our Learning Communities for 2019. All children should have taken home a letter advising you of placement for next year, and with some key information about start dates, when the office reopens etc. Please see your child's current pod teacher if you didn't receive this letter! (One or two were left at school in the end-of-day excitement). Summer volunteers - pool Anna Jenkins (one of the teachers in Manuka) is looking for community members to help maintain the pool over the summer season, which would allow us to open our pool outside of school hours. Volunteers need to be willing to cover pool duties for approximately two weeks in total over the season (some weekends and some weekdays), and get a free pool key! Volunteers would need to:
